Civic Advisor to the Mayor of Wrocław on Tolerance and Counteracting Xenophobia
In January 2019, the Mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, appointed Civic Advisor to the Mayor of Wrocław for tolerance and counteracting xenophobia. It is Bartłomiej Ciążyński – lawyer, Vice-president of Wrocław, Vice President of ECCAR network.
Key tasks:
  • leading information campaigns for tolerance, openness, diversity, equality and social justice;
  • cooperating with non-governmental organisations, Wrocław City Hall, municipal organisational units and other entities in the field of counteracting xenophobia and various forms of discrimination;
  • proposing legal and organisational legislative solutions in the field of counteracting xenophobia and discrimination;
  • promoting training, debates and educational campaigns in the field of counteracting xenophobia and discrimination;
  • taking effective actions to eliminate and limit the effects of xenophobic and discriminatory activities in Wrocław.

Mayor of Wrocław’s Plenipotentiary for Residents of Ukrainian Descent
In March 2019, the Mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, appointed the Mayor of Wrocław’s Plenipotentiary for Residents of Ukrainian Descent. It is Olga Chrebor, who has been working with the Ukrainian community in Wrocław for years.

The Plenipotentiary’s tasks include taking actions to support the Ukrainian minority and Ukrainian citizens who have expressed their intention to settle and work in Wrocław in the process of their adaptation and social integration.

In addition, the Plenipotentiary cooperates with representatives of the central and local administration, civic partners, non-governmental and economic organisations, and other entities. She also represents the City and the Mayor of Wrocław in front of domestic and foreign entities, bodies, and institutions.
Key tasks:
  • increasing the availability of information and counseling,
  • supporting educational processes, including learning the Polish language,
  • supporting cultural activities and other initiatives and projects aimed at intercultural cooperation,
  • other problems and needs arising from the ongoing analysis.

Mayor of Wrocław’s Plenipotentiary for Residents of Belarusian Descent
In September 2020, the Mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, appointed Tatiana Andrushka as the Mayor of Wrocław’s Plenipotentiary for Residents of Belarusian Descent.

The Plenipotentiary’s tasks include taking actions to support the Belarusian minority and Belarusian citizens who have expressed their intention to settle and work in Wrocław in the process of their adaptation and social integration.

In addition, the Plenipotentiar cooperates with representatives of the central and local administration, civic partners, non-governmental and economic organisations, and other entities.

  • increasing the availability of information and counseling,
  • supporting cultural activities and other initiatives and projects aimed at intercultural cooperation,

Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Wrocław for equal treatment
In April 2023, the Mayor of Wrocław appointed the Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Wrocław for equal treatment.

Alina Szeptycka is an anti-discrimination trainer, educator, activist, and co-founder of the Kultura Równości Association (since 2014) acting for LGBT+ people in Wrocław and the region. Alina is the co-chairman of the Wrocław Council for Equal Treatment under President Jacek Sutryk (since 2021), and a member of the Wrocław Women's Council (since 2019).

The main task of the Plenipotentiary is to coordinate activities for equality and protection against discrimination.
Key tasks:
  • implementation and coordination of activities within the scope of the policy for social diversity;
  • developing action plans for equal treatment and counteracting discrimination;
  • building a coherent and effective information policy in the field of implemented equality projects;
  • coordinating activities in the implementation of the provisions of contracts and memoranda to which the City is a signatory;
  • cooperating with non-governmental organisations and institutions operating in the field of equality issues;
  • implementating projects raising social awareness in the field of counteracting discrimination.
